Our CSR policy

A living
heritage serving
the future

At the heart of the Montcelard park, the two-hundred-year-old Ginkgo biloba, a legacy of the English-style garden that gave rise to the estate, embodies a longstanding and respectful relationship with the natural world. Today, this history guides concrete commitments to preserve nature, strengthen local roots and build a sustainable future.
Through this page, we wish to share, simply and transparently, the concrete actions, values and commitments that shape our CSR policy.

Preserving
biodiversity

A training venue at the heart of nature

Montcelard is a genuine haven of biodiversity. In partnership with the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), regular naturalist surveys help to better understand and protect the species present on the site.

  • More than 30 bird species recorded
  • Presence of protected amphibians, reptiles and mammals
  • Conservation of deadwood, undergrowth and ecological corridors, creation of dry hedges…
  • Managed outdoor lighting to limit night-time disturbance
  • Controlled, limited mowing to preserve the development of fauna and flora
  • Area left for natural evolution: 10 hectares of forest preserved from human activity

These actions actively contribute to preserving ecosystems and maintaining a sustainable natural balance.

Montcelard also applies and complies with the Biodiversity Charter of the Mérieux Group companies, based on the following commitments:

Nature as
an ally

A training venue at the heart of nature

Our commitment translates into daily, measurable and evolving initiatives:

  • Selective sorting and recycling, composting and waste reduction
  • Clean Walks to keep the site tidy
  • Awareness-raising initiatives for visitors, company staff and site residents
  • Managed on-site beekeeping: production of local honey contributing to pollination and biodiversity

Every action is designed as a step towards more responsible site management.
Montcelard is pursuing a structured, long-term approach to biodiversity, implemented over time.

People at the heart of
our commitments

Social commitment & solidarity

The Montcelard estate builds strong ties with its local area and stakeholders, in a spirit of solidarity and inclusion.

Organizations present on the Montcelard estate include in particular:

  • Maison François & Claire (assisted-living residence – nursing home)
  • Les Chalets de Montcelard – Habitat & Humanisme
    • Reception and support for women and children in situations of severe hardship
    • Intergenerational initiatives and educational support

These projects foster togetherness, openness and collective engagement.

Responsible
partnerships

Suppliers committed alongside us

We favor partners who share our values:

  • Local suppliers and short supply chains
  • Seasonal produce, quality labels

This approach guarantees a responsible and ethical value chain, from producer to end user.

Limiting our
environmental impact

Responsible day-to-day management

We integrate sustainable practices into the management of the site:
  • Energy efficiency
  • LED relamping campaign
  • Managed heating, ventilation and air conditioning
  • Raising staff awareness of eco-friendly practices

Together, let's cultivate the future

At Montcelard, every action counts. Our CSR policy is part of a long-term vision, driven by people, nature and collective responsibility.
